Presently working on a Texture of Iife quilt for my neice.

Last summer my neice gave me a box of clothing.  This clothing belongs to her family, they are clothes that the children have out grown.  Also in the box where some dresses my neice no longer wears but loved.  I thought I would tease you with the clothes line of clothes that I am using
to make her family quilt.  Kim loves mandala's so I am being challenged to create a quilt of Mandala's for her.  I will add pictures of the quilt in process periodically.

These are the blocks made from these 4 dresses..  There is a brown dress to the far left that I used with the flowers on the white dress.  The one below is the velour pink dress on the right. This is a small compass so I see myself using this fabric a couple more times.

The following block is from a new book I bought (Maginificent Spiral Mandala Quilts written by Ranae Merrill).  I couldn't resist the challenge of making this block.  The books directions included cutting out the individual pieces as templates.  I found that to be to time consuming.  So instead I made it a paper piece pattern.   I just love the curves of this block.  I will be making more of these in the years to come.  This was made from the cute little yellow, pink and blue dress.

This block was made from the brown dress on the left.   And the
flowered dress on the left of the brown dress.

The following are blocks made from Caton's clothes (Kim's Son).

On the clothes line there is a stripped shirt and a plaid shirt that makes
up the above block.

The stripped skirt hanging 3rd from the left was used to make the
following block.

I love the colors on this wheel.

I hope you are enjoying this story on a clothes line.
